Stephen Charlton

Stephen Charlton is an award-winning sculptor who creates witty, unique bronze animal sculptures that are perfect for garden landscapes and interiors. Limited to an edition of only nine, these magnificent works stand proud in bronze and purposefully adorn any garden and delights the heart.

‘Offering’ is Stephen’s new bronze creation standing 1.8 metres high, this bronze is a ‘hare for all seasons’ with the ability to change the flowers and colours depending on season or your reason, making the Offering a unique sculpture. Based on Stephen’s short poem, it is as if he is giving his heart to his beloved – his last Rolo.

Stephen believes that animals can trigger different emotions and connections that we don’t think about until we’re confronted by them. There is of course the fantasy –  the use of the imagination and the whimsical that connects him to these creatures.

Working on commissions and in partnership with public authorities, landscape gardeners, architects and for private clients around the world, Stephen’s work has been showcased at the Chelsea Flower Show, National Trust, English Heritage, The Grove Hotel, Marks Hall, Doddington Hall and Rococo Gardens.

From swinging mice to piroetting hares, there is so much to enjoy, fulfilling Stephen’s purpose to provide a ‘smile inside’.
