Marina Emphietzi

Marina Emphietzi is an award-winning artist known for her evocative seascape paintings. Her works depict strong emotions and intense energy while also telling a story.

Marina's art is a captivating exploration of time, life, and memory, inspired mostly by the ocean and the marine environment.

Award winner of the 2022 Chelsea Summer exhibition. She trained at the Dubai International Arts Centre under Artist Master Shakeel and continued her education at Central ST. Martin’s college of Art in London and the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMASS).

She teaches art and is a professionally accredited strategic planning Consultant (UMASS).

Member of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts and the @ArtCan.org organisation, her work and inspirations can be viewed online.

Marina lost her home in the trauma of war. The ocean and its waters, full of life and possibility, are a part of her most joyful memories. They are from which she draws inspiration from in her work and why her pieces have the power to evoke strong feelings of nostalgia and freedom. A world traveller, Marina has called many places home. The man-made beaches of Dubai, the crowded markets of Ethiopia, and now, the grey skies of London, U.K., each brings their own colour palette to Marina’s current work. Created with robust energy, her paintings have playful textures and a distinct style.

Marina's art explores the transient nature of human existence, paralleling the ever-changing and flowing qualities of water. Through her paintings, she invites viewers to reflect on their own memories of being near water, evoking sensations of warmth and freedom.
