MAJO’s huge striking pillar candles are specifically designed to be used outdoors, with extra-thick wicks and a unique wax formulation, meaning they stay alight even in wind and rain. Founder Jodi Curtis was inspired by the luxury outdoor candles she saw at a garden party in Kochi and tracked down the skilled makers that hand pour them at a workshop in rural Kerala to learn more. Her MAJO garden candles are now made in the UK using the same traditional artisanal processes. The candles are available in height options from 20cm up to an incredible 1 metre, are 23 cm in diameter and are made from paraffin wax, which will not melt in the sun but should be insulated or brought inside in cold weather. Each one is handmade, and the largest 32kg candles will burn for up to 600 hours. They can be placed on any flat, non-flammable surface except metal but come with a complimentary circular stone plate. Optional extras include a jet flame lighter and chrome snuffer for lighting and extinguishing the wind-resistant flame on the extra-thick wicks.
MAJO candles have been seen in House & Garden, World of Interiors and The Garden Design Journal. To see more, visit the website or Instagram page.@majocandles
