Lotta Sirén is a young self-taught abstract artist from Finland. In the end of 2018, she studied for master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, but something did not feel right. She decided to move back to her hometown, Espoo and exchanged movie nights into painting. She started working as an IT-consultant in Helsinki, but just after a few months of painting in the evenings, she quit her day job to become a full-time artist. The new apartment quickly turned into an atelier and Sirén rapidly grew her collector and follower base online. She had more than ten exhibitions during her first year as an exhibiting artist and her paintings have been shipped to at least 8 countries already. Now her life goals are to reduce stress and spread her art all around the globe.
Sirén’s paintings are not about a certain subject, but rather about expressing her feelings in movements and colors, also largely affected by interior design, fashion and music. She even has done commissions based on collectors’ choice of music.
“Lotta’s craft showcases her femininity via abstract expressionism. Her paint flows on the canvas and her lines make beautifully formed dance-like patterns. Where Lotta’s works stand out is how each individual artwork simply pleases the eye of the viewer. The beautiful paintings hold strong expression and carefully patterned craft, all in one single work of art. If the viewer has a chance to see the works in real life you will be opened to a totally new experience via the strength of surface design which covers and uncovers the many layers being brought alive during the working process.
If ever I was to say “watch this space”, Lotta is one of those artists who you should follow.” — Rigulio Graak
