Kathy is a self-taught expressionist and visual artist.
Her love for art started as a teenager, and she eventually took up painting a few years later. Appreciating the work of Jackson Pollack and Wassily Kandinsky, Kathy realized that abstract expressionism was exactly what she wanted to convey into her art and how she wanted to express her creativity.
She loves using color to represent energy and expression. And draws her inspiration from love, positivity, passion, and music.
Her strengths are the use of these colors in a hypnotic manner in order to convey a sense of heightened emotional response in the spectator. Allowing them to visualize sensations which draw them into her paintings.
All of her pieces are original and unplanned. She loves being in the moment with each individual painting and using spontaneous creativity in the moment.
All of her current work is acrylic on canvas. She uses a variety of unique brush strokes and tools to create her pieces. She plans to eventually incorporate oils and resins into her work in the future. Along with always evolving on creative techniques.
Although Kathy has southern roots, she now calls Chicagoland home. In addition to art, she has a passion for working with animals and manages a dog daycare and boarding facility.
