Iti Das is a self-taught artist based in Ealing, West London. Having left corporate life behind four years ago, she now creates large, pure abstract and semi-abstract figurative works using mainly oils on stretched canvas for both private and business buyers.
Her work attempts to capture an essence of her subject matter, without conforming to absolute realism. Using mostly black and white reference materials, she projects her own interpretation and colour palette, building multiple layers resulting in a colour rich, textured outcome.
Her business background enables her to approach commission based projects with structure and process to meet her clients’ needs, whilst her own works provide the freedom to experiment with her current attraction to ‘faces’; often disregarding the rules of proportion to accentuate a particular feature to stand out.
Her preference to create large works lend themselves perfectly to interiors that require statement pieces, or that compliment calm decors that needs offsetting with splashes of colour, without detracting too much from the interior design of the home or business space.
Whilst a relatively new business, Iti has successfully directly shipped globally to clients and collectors over the last few years, and is fully VAT registered, enabling clients of all types to transact without the accounting challenges that can often be associated with small business enterprises.
Focusing currently on producing original artwork only using the highest quality materials, this enables her to create lasting bespoke works and further develop her preferred artistic style without compromise or over diversication from her core offering, enabling her to continue her commitment to open art submissions for new and emerging artists, including the annual BP National Portrait Award, to help build recognition and brand.
