Earnest & James, LLC is an exquisite jewelry line company that uses craftsmanship in metalsmithing techniques to create our one-of-a-kind pieces. All of the jewelry is handcrafted and because of this, no two pieces are exactly the same.  We embrace those slight differences and celebrate the beauty in perfect imperfection much like that of our own DNA. Our jewelry consists of modern designs, which utilize negative space to create volume, and organic forms created for versatility and everyday wear.  We combine ethically sourced stones and gemstones with sterling silver and copper.  Our premier jewelry line unites 14k and 18k gold with sterling silver; and marries the beautiful hues of precious stones such as sapphires, pearls and other gemstones.

Dyanne Christian, a self-taught metalwork artist and jewelry designer, is a native of Detroit, Michigan and owner of Earnest & James, LLC.  The influences of family and the city Detroit are not only apparent in the name of her company, which bears the names of her great-grandfather and father; but from design to creation the elements of her hometown are heavily influential in the pieces of this artist.  The details of the city’s architecture and eclectic cultures stand as muses for Dyanne’s narrative of her city rich in history and strength.

Earnest & James, LLC was born out of our chief artist and owner’s need to process the loss of her father in 2005.  Encouraged by her mother to indulge in a creative form to help deal with her grief, Dyanne ultimately found the comfort she needed in metalwork and jewelry design.  With every creation, she was able to connect with her father, who was an exceptional craftsman in his own right.
