Ecole d’Humanité

The Ecole d’Humanité is a progressive boarding school in the heart of the Swiss Alps offering both US and Swiss academic programs. For 110 years, the Ecole has emphasized humanistic values and responsible community living. The holistic pedagogical concept of the school focuses on the development of individual talents and the promotion of academic, creative and social skills. Ecole graduates demonstrate the intellectual, social and ethical habits to positively impact their communities.

Nestled in the secure and pristine environment of the Swiss Alps, our international school is home to a 120 students from over 20 countries around the world. The stunning setting provides a wholesome learning environment. Students aged 12 to 20 and teachers live together in small Ecole “families” which promote intercultural understanding, community mindedness, and self-responsibility.

Our intensive morning academics, accredited by AdvancED, are balanced by afternoons devoted to the arts, music, sports, and practical work. Our exceptional Outdoor Program, certified by Safety in Adventures, features skiing, hiking, climbing, and other mountain sports.

Ecole students are learning for a lifetime. Small classes promote active participation and meaningful understanding. The school provides individualized College advising and access to outstanding Universities around the world. The school’s academic programs encompass accredited US university-prep and Advanced Placement curriculum, preparation for the Swiss Matura (in German), and we are an official testing site for the College Board’s SAT and AP exams.
