What do I do:
I create one-of-a kind hand-build sculptures and crockery in stoneware using the method of pinching. I use under gazed colors to hand paint them give them unique characteristics, in an attempt to challenge consumers to rediscover the emotion in an object. Through my art I often try to raise awareness of contemporary global issues such as wildlife threads, and social inequality.
Media I use:
It is my strong conviction that clay is my core medium and the ultimate source of my inspirations. It is a material that stimulates my imagination and senses and I love the “wonders” it gives me. Clay is a very interesting and fundamental material, as a combination of earth, water, air and with fire takes on form and life. I love the effect of contrasting materials, I use wire, thread, stone and glass as accents.
Inspiration:
Art has a unique way to liberate my way of expressing my best self to the world and
I am inspired from organic forms, nature, surreal elements and creatures. As I live in a Mediterranean island the seashore is an endless inspirational source to me, observing the amazing colours through the bright light of the region.
Interests:
I love the arts. I am fascinated exploring how history evolved through art. I enjoy travelling to different destinations trying to get to know places and cultures. Contemporary Interior Design is one of my passions, as I believe details are of great importance in life. I am also interested in capturing imperfect beings in their abstract form through my art. I endlessly use color and I experiment a lot to come up with new hues.
Upcoming:
The pandemic has intrigued me working even harder during our long lockdowns, so currently I am working for the preparation of an interactive art exhibition that will take place in Cyprus later this year.
