My Adorable Friend

Francesca Cussons (she/her) founded My Adorable Friend in 2020. The inspiration behind My Adorable Friend comes from founder Francesca Cussons', great -grandfather Alexander Tom Cussons, who set up Imperial Leather over 80 years ago. He has inspired My Adorable Friend today to create great natural, vegan, environmentally friendly soap on a rope for our Adorable Friends. Handmade with Love from 100% organic coconut oil and hand-picked botanicals with dog-friendly essential oils.

Her love for fashion and style led to studying Fashion Promotion and Imaging at the University of the Creative Arts in Epsom, whilst also studying a year abroad at IED Milan in Fashion Styling. Leading to opportunities such as being able to work in the magazine world from Sunday Times to ELLE, Grazia, and Tatler before My Adorable Friend was founded in the summer of 2020 to create organic, vegan, and sustainable dog products.

All of the shampoo bars are handmade with love in Britain and are 100% natural using only the best organic ingredients and environmentally friendly packaging. Francesca had always wanted to start her own business and in lockdown, she went home during the pandemic. During which time she developed an interest in the plants which were in the fields and hedgerows around her. Francesca first thought about using them for herself in beauty products which then progressed onto shampoo bars for dogs. Francesca wanted something to use on her dog which was totally natural and beneficial to their skin and hair and eco-friendly. Francesca’s mother and her both have a love for dogs and they have a business partnership. Francesca was brought up in the countryside, her father had farms which he farmed organically in the 1970s. Her mother took an environmental biology degree in the 1970s which gave her a background and interest in organic products and the environment.

My Adorable Friend has been seen in British Vogue, The World of Interiors, and Vanity Fair. Along with being featured on ‘The Barking Hour’ on BBC Radio 4.
