Chic Living Interior with MENINO DESIGN STUDIO

Originally designed by David Lyncg in 1960, it was renovated and redesigned IN 2019 by MENINO DESIGN STUDIO, a boutique firm based in New York that provides highly personalized design services in High End residential, retail, hospitality, and corporate spaces owned by Margherita Menino, an Italian luxury residential and commercial architect and interior designer.

Over the past 16 years, Menino has built up an impressively intuitive understanding of space and aesthetics. “I think that to be an architect, a designer is not something you’ll learn in one day. Architecture is something that you're going to learn from until you’re 90 years old. It’s no learning curve, and it’s like infinite progress. It’s always, what is next? What is new?”

This MCM gem, which the architect and interior designer restored while keeping the original slate floors, stone walls, and stunning fireplace, proves that less is more. The open floor plan with glass floor-to-ceiling opening to exterior courtyards allows natural light to flood the space, which is the final touch.

Menino designed the living spaces in a functional, modern, and sophisticated style while honouring the original materials, which shows perfectly in this beautiful but mostly functional and modern kitchen, with a very trending island as a centrepiece adding balance with natural elements like wood and modern tones like marble.

Finally, the traditional bedroom offers opportunities for pared-back decor that brings us back to the 80s  and an open ceiling that allows a flow of natural light and places us in the most cosy yet comfortable room.
