Classic, simple, stylish - our products look good in any home

Who or what do you look at for inspiration?

Travel, mostly.  I’ve lived in other countries such as Greece and Spain, I love to travel and scent evokes really special memories for me. I have a particularly strong sense of smell and I am a trained Clinical Aromatherapist.  Blending oils that remind me of places I’ve lived in and visited really inspires me and my customer base. Every scent tells a story and every blend takes you on a journey.  Mood is also interesting and blends that represent different therapeutic needs and offer a mood boosting experience are important to me. Everyone has struggled so much during the last 18 months and our candles have brought comfort to our customers.

Ambition or Talent?   Which is most important to success?  I think you need both.   Being driven and brave are essential skills for any business owner.  Ambition is key, but if you’re lacking the talent to back it up then it’s difficult to succeed.  However, sometimes people with talent can lack ambition or simply want to focus on being creative.  In these cases, a partnership is necessary, so you have a team who bring all the right ingredients for success.

Can you explain how you have adapted the business as a result of the pandemic?

I wasn’t able to trade at markets and events, but I have done some brilliant online events which have really paid off. I also focused on marketing and PR and did a few more campaigns to increase awareness of the brand.  It’s important to adapt and to keep moving in business whatever the circumstances.
