














Opened in September 2023, Rugby School Japan (RSJ) is located in Kashiwanoha, an education, innovation and entrepreneur hub, just 30 minutes from central Tokyo. As the second international school within the prestigious Rugby School group, RSJ offers a co-educational day and boarding for pupils aged 11-18, blending an authentic British education with Japanese cultural advantages.
Leadership and Ethos
Founding Principal Tony Darby, brings 14 years of leadership at Rugby School UK to RSJ. The Rugby Learner Profile encourages students to be enquiring, communicative, globally minded, versatile, reflective, and resilient. Academic Excellence
RSJ, an academically selective school, welcomes students from all over the world. The curriculum follows the British system, preparing pupils for I/GCSE and A-levels, with the first IGCSE results in August 2024. As an Apple School, RSJ integrates technology with iPads and laptops. The University Counselling team supports students through their University application process.
Campus and Facilities
The 10-acre campus boasts 12 science labs, a music faculty, dance studio, black box theatre, design studios, library, swimming pool, sports hall, tennis courts, and sports pitches. Additional facilities include an innovation centre, debating chamber, and medical centre.
Boarding and Co-Curricular Activities
With two boarding houses and four more by 2025, 55% of pupils are weekly or full boarders. The House system fosters community, and over 55 co-curricular activities enhance student life.
