Founded in 1888, this year we celebrate 130 years of LALIQUE as proud heirs to a unique artistic tradition that still inspires our creative work and current projects. LALIQUE is one of the crown jewels in France’s crystal glass industry. Its founding father, René Lalique was one of the great creative forces of French decorative art in the 19^th and 20^th centuries. Renowned as the inventor of modern jewelry, he went on to become a master in the art of glassmaking. Over time, his name has become the powerful symbol of a unique expertise, a synonym for luxury, excellence, creativity and for a widely celebrated artistic style. Through its contemporary work in six areas, LALIQUE revives and pursues the creative, eclectic work of its founder: jewelry, decorative items, interior design, fragrances, art and hospitality.

LALIQUE enters into exclusive collaborations with luxury brands, artists and designers such as Damien Hirst, Zaha Hadid, Pierre-Yves Rochon and Mario Botta, to create stunning objects and exclusive collections based on both partners’ know-how and expertise. All crystal items are handcrafted in the company’s sole manufacturing site, which has been located in the Alsace region in France since 1921. Several of the workers at the factory learn their craft from their fathers; some already represent the fifth generation of their families to work at Lalique. Given that it takes more than a dozen years to qualify as a master glassmaker, LALIQUE is committed to training several youngers every year to ensure that these unique skills, which are recognized as part of French cultural heritage, are not lost.
