Henry Holland is a U.K. artist based in Tokyo and has been painting for 10 years. Using his knowledge and experience of working with paint, through a state of meditative inner peace, he recreates visualised landscapes from his imagination, believing his painting thrives when he is free to express what he sees as intuitively as possible, achieving this by setting fewer limitations on his interpretation.
By experimenting with different techniques and colour schemes he strives to convey the feelings generated in his depiction of the weather’s vast range of contrast and underlying power of movement, each having their own atmospheric conditions that produce clouds, storms and swirling mists, conveying the suggestion of movement and the dynamics creating them.
From the peaceful sunrise of a new day to dramatic skies with threats of an impending storm or the surreal images of a still haze to vibrant sunsets, his paintings evoke emotions and memories primarily through the power of the colours and moods these images suggest in the mind of the observer.
Using that same passion he also undertakes private commissions to recreate images from life of a favourite or remembered scene with its own personalised interpretation of those inherent emotions he utilises in creating his own compositions.
His work is currently being featured in TATLER magazine’s print showcase ‘Mind Your Manor’ which is promoting their hand selected range of premium interiors brands and is also on their digital platform TATLER Shops.
All his paintings are unique originals hand painted in oil on canvas and are supplied with a certificate of authenticity to collectors worldwide.
