In 2014 Clerkenwell Rug Studio proudly opened its doors and began handcrafting beautiful bespoke rugs, designed by you. This unique concept means you are involved throughout. From the initial design to the minute your beautiful rug is put in place.

We guide designers through the process, create hand trials and artwork and advise on yarn choice and pile height. Everything you need to ensure your rug is everything you imagined.

Our Bespoke Rugs are hand-tufted in British Mills by our exceptional Craftsmen. These wool rich rugs are suitable for domestic and commercial interiors. Shorter pile in an office or longer, luxurious pile at home - perfect for sinking your toes into. If you prefer finer fibres like Silk, Bamboo Silk or Viscose, our international partner mills are experts at working with these precious fibres.

Clerkenwell Rug Studio advises on all aspects from colour to texture. Within one rug we can use five different textures, including hand carving, to create beautiful rug art.

“After 10 years working in the bespoke rug and carpet industry, I gained specialist knowledge of the textile manufacturing process and how to work closely with the Interior Design community, advising on colour, design and the different beautiful textures we achieve by taking advantage of new technologies when creating a bespoke rug.

I became aware that competitors were either well-known rug designers or international fashion designers. What kept coming back to me was our hugely talented UK based designers and our fantastic British craftspeople with a long heritage in manufacturing. My idea was to marry the designers and the craftspeople so we could team up and create beautiful and unique bespoke rugs for our clients!"
