At chaircreative we believe in making something exceptional, something that challenges the pre-conceptions of how seating can exist.

Designed by award winning artist Alun Heslop, the chaircreative studio workshop in East Sussex, U.K. specialises in the design and creation of outstanding sculptural chairs and seating. Creating unique centrepiece statement chairs and benches as well as larger scale bespoke installations for interior and exterior spaces. Working in wood and foundry cast editions in bronze and stainless steel.

Our creations encapsulate a timeless elegance and appeal through implementation of good design and appropriate ‘truth to materials’. By unifying good function with superb form, we make sure that each piece is going to stand the test of time, selecting the finest ingredients for the work at hand. A visionary imagination is combined with dedication to excellence in craftsmanship of creation. Ergonomic performance or ‘fit for purpose’ is paramount with any seating piece implemented. It must be comfortable and enjoyable to sit on no matter how visually striking or surprising a piece may at first appear.

Each profile becomes a series of flowing transitions, a dance of light and shadow, that equate to a sublime form that is far more that the sum of it’s parts would otherwise suggest.
