Alexander King Studios

Alexander King Studios - formally known as ARK Cabinet Makers - specialise in fine craftsmanship creating one off, free standing pieces.

The company was founded in the winter of 2008 with a vision to create furniture of the highest quality for both residential and commercial clients. Over the years we have obtained extensive knowledge across a multitude of mediums; incorporating metal, glass, stone, leather, carbon fibre and much more into our designs.

Alexander King Studios enjoys a creative environment where the natural order is challenged. This is achieved by pursuing state-of-the-art techniques, adapting old ones and keeping fluid with design concepts. Our objective is to inject as much artistic flare into our designs as possible, combining both beauty and function.

We are now working on speculative designs to exhibit at galleries and art fairs, which allows us to experiment with complicated and unusual design concepts. With that said, we continue to enjoy the process of working directly with clients and take commissions of all kinds from functional, to sculptural furniture.

Although proficient in the use of CAD and CAM, we tend to opt for more traditional methods when working on sculptural pieces, including free hand sculpting, pattern making and scaled models. We believe connecting with our work in this manner produces a unique character to the finished piece.
