Designed by Staffan Tollgård and Filippo Castellani for Galotti & Radice, The SENSEI collection bridges Italian, Scandinavian and Japanese design cultures drawing a red thread between rigour, versatility and functionalism. An honorific term - Sensei - literally translates to ‘one who comes before’: a respectful form of address that acknowledges the mastery of an artform, skill or discipline.

A refined and balanced collection of coffee tables, wide and narrow bridges in metal, wood, marble and glass rigorously conceived to provide flexible functionality. A group of functional-sculptural pieces, designed to be overlapped and combined to suit different scenarios.

“SENSEI’s coffee table is one of my favourite pieces in this series,” says Staffan Tollgård. “There is something reminiscent of the Torii gate in the relationship of the legs and the slightly curved, satisfyingly solid marble top.”

“SENSEI’s narrow bridge is my hero product,” says Filippo Castellani.
“It is a linking piece which captures the minimalistic aesthetics of the collection. Sensei’s bridge can be combined with every other piece in the series, linking them together physically and functionally.”

The Ekero family is growing bigger - and lighter!

Launching at Salone De Mobile 2022, two sculptural luminaires joins the award-winning Ekero family. A meeting of Swedish and Italian minds, this collection explores illumination and balance within design. Continuing their collaboration with Porada, Staffan Tollgård and Filippo Castellani have designed contemporary pieces that inspire and excite while offering flexibility and functionality.

EKERO Table Lamp

The table lamp - available in its own family of four sizes - carefully balances heaviness with lightness - in all senses of the word. The characteristic marble base grounds the glass globe, its minimal metal connection a seemingly fragile bridge between marble and glass.

EKERO Totem Lamp | EKERO Twins

The collection's loftier version takes inspiration from Ekero's classic valet stand. While Totem presents a single globe with space for storage or decorative objects, its alter ego Twins offers the illumination of a double-headed luminaire.
