Exchange programs between Chinese and American students are fostering deeper cultural understanding and friendships. Shijiazhuang Foreign Language School in Hebei, China, has been conducting reciprocal visits with sister schools in Iowa, USA, since 1997.
This month, 102 American students and teachers will visit China as part of the Friendship Inheritance Study Program, exploring cultural sites in Shijiazhuang, Beijing, and Shanghai, including Tsinghua University.
Pei Hongxia, the school’s principal, highlighted the growing interest among American students in studying in China. She emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to enhance these exchanges, which have been ongoing for decades and celebrated 40 years of the Hebei-Iowa sister state-province relationship in 2023.
