Year 11 Business students visited the Glico ice cream production facility, gaining first-hand insight into real-world business operations. The trip allowed students to see classroom concepts applied in practice, from manufacturing processes to quality management and marketing.
On the factory floor, students observed the blending of ingredients, automated production lines, and the preparation of products for nationwide distribution, providing a clear view of large-scale production methods. The visit also highlighted quality management, demonstrating the roles of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) in maintaining consistent standards.
Students explored Glico’s marketing strategy and brand identity, learning how the company’s iconic logo and messaging reflect its founding principle of “providing nutrition.” The experience offered a practical connection between business theory and real-world operations, reinforcing knowledge ahead of IGCSE examinations.
The visit provided an engaging learning opportunity and highlighted the value of experiencing industry beyond the classroom.
