Restoring The Fallen Angel

White Crow Studios were delighted when we were recently commissioned to create marketing CGIs for the exciting new development at the former Midlands based Angel Croft Hotel in Lichfield, Staffordshire.  Friel Construction Ltd have acquired the Angel Croft Hotel, Westgate House and Cottage and the surrounding land on Beacon Street, Lichfield. Their aim is to develop the 3 acre site into luxury city centre living whilst harmonising with the Georgian architecture of the surrounding area.

For White Crow Studios it’s been a fantastic opportunity to work on luxury, characterful interiors and to bring back to life part of Lichfield’s heritage. White Crow Studios are also located in the historic medieval city of Lichfield, Staffordshire and are proud to be involved with this project.

When working on a development like this, it is important that the visuals accurately represent the bespoke detailing that has been retained from the original property.  This project enabled us to create something a bit different from the normal features you’d find in an average new build property.

One of the standout features with this part of the development was the ornate staircase found in what was the hotel’s lobby. The lobby CGI provided a fantastic sales image that set the tone for the rest of the interior imagery. It was important that we recreated the Georgian detailing and brought out the full character of the property. The development’s large windows and high ceilings helped give our designers a great canvas to work with when populating the chosen roomsets…

In house Interior designer, Fiona Damiano comments:

“As a designer I was presented with the opportunity of creating an interior scheme that would work harmoniously with the original features of the grade II listed building.

The use of a pale colour palette, contemporary furniture and the existing large Georgian windows, create a light airy space, where contemporary interiors coexist in unison with the historical fabric of the building; a perfect union between past and present.”
