Park Place To Be


Abode2 visits the newly launched show apartments at luxury parkside development, Park Place in Finchley. The show apartments, by developer Aitch Group, have been created to showcase the lifestyle on offer within the development, with different layouts and prices, illustrating what buyers can get for their money. The apartments are ready for immediate move in, perfect for those looking to be in their new home before Christmas.

With so many buyers having to view apartments virtually during the lockdown as a result of restrictions, Aitch Group felt that it was important that buyers now have the option to visit the development and experience the apartments in reality. Reflecting the buyer demographic of young professionals and creatives, the six show apartments at Park Place each have different styles to appeal to this mix. The apartments are also located across multiple floors within the development so they each also have different layouts and different views.

Park Place on Ballards Lane in Finchley consists of the transformation of the former Finchley Metropolitan Police Station site into a new residential development providing 41 modern studios, one and two bedroom apartments, complete with retail space and opposite Victoria Park, providing stylish homes for buyers who wish to live near open green space whilst still being close to central London. Park Place was transformed from the former Ballards Lane Police Station after it was purchased by Aitch Group in 2017.  The Ballards Lane Police Station was famous for investigating high profile cases during the Victorian and Edwardian eras such as the infamous Black-Hand Gang during Victorian times, the Finchley baby kidnappers Amelia Sach and Annie Walters in 1903 and the Tube train murders of 1939. The luxury development now consists of an elegant three storey building with floor-to-ceiling windows, covered balconies and a brick façade, recalling the brick façade of the former police station, paying homage to the site’s former use.

The new apartments at Park Place, ranging in size from 410 square foot for a studio apartment up to 924 square foot for a two-bedroom apartment, are modern and comfortable. All the apartments are designed to be light and roomy, a breath of fresh air in a city that can often feel crowded, with each apartment benefitting from a cohesive design throughout. The reception rooms are large enough to entertain, yet also have a cosy and intimate ambience, creating the feeling of a safe and homely pad.

Natural materials and modern finishes are used throughout the apartments, further emphasising the calming essence of Park Place and its surroundings, a beautiful pairing of bright, contemporary architecture alongside the adjacent open spaces and greenery. Each show apartment is dressed using a slightly different colour scheme for the soft furnishings ranging from monochromatic and art deco, Scandi décor, to full of bright pops of colour so buyers will be able to view at least one apartment that is similar to their own design tastes. Each apartment is designed to a high specification including a fully fitted Nobilia kitchen with Bosch fitted appliances, timber flooring throughout hallways, living rooms and kitchens, contemporary black switches and sockets and fitted wardrobes to the master bedrooms. Trains into central London from Finchley Central and West Finchley Stations take just under half an hour – perfect for commuting.  Heathrow Airport, for those looking forward to travelling again, is also just a 40 minute drive away.
