Almost 14 years ago, while he was still married to Miranda Kerr, Orlando Bloom picked up a lush, resort-like spread in the far western reaches of Malibu above El Matador State Beach.
Now the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star is moving on once again, this time from the coastal retreat he acquired for $2.5 million in 2011. After an extensive and costly renovation of the 1970s pad, which included reconfiguring the bottom floor and adding an outdoor pool, he has decided to put the place on the market.

The asking price is $12 million.
Tucked away on a private gated drive off Pacific Coast Highway, the modern four-bedroom, five-bathroom home offers roughly 4,200 square feet across two meandering levels. Open-plan interiors with a Japanese vibe boast a mix of hardwood and tile floors, high wood-beamed ceilings, and walls of glass. There are also colourful custom finishes and furnishings by artist and designer Roy McMakin that are available for purchase as part of the sale.
Standing out is a spacious sunken living room anchored by a stove-style fireplace. Up a few steps is a formal dining area, which adjoins an updated kitchen sporting sea foam green cabinetry, stone countertops, an eat-in butcher-block island, and a Wolf range. Steps on the other side lead down to a casual dining area and a family/media room with sliding glass doors spilling outside.
