With events back on the horizon for the near future, Abode2 takes a look at the new events space at Holmes Hotel London. Located on iconic Chiltern Street in the heart of Marylebone Village, Holmes Hotel London has unveiled The Residence: a brand-new exclusive events venue within the award-winning hotel, providing an immersive space to celebrate special occasions.
The Residence is a truly unique and self-contained event space, designed around the ethos and etiquette of the historic townhouses above. Channelling the splendour and decadence of the neighbourhood’s famous fictional resident, its seriously stylish interior provides a delightfully playful setting for an array of special occasions – be that a private dinner party, a birthday celebration, or intimate nuptials.
Five unique and versatile rooms are available to choose from, namely The Pantry, The Billiard Room, The Laboratory, The Conservatory and The Cellar, hosting up to 130 guests when booked together for exclusive use of the space, or up to 20 guests when the rooms are booked individually for smaller occasions. Designed by Zopsigog, the venue is lined with artfully positioned antiques, curiosities and artefacts that seamlessly harmonise with its alluring colour palette and luxury furnishings; the rooms reflect mystery of the central London enclave it calls home, creating memorable moments for all that visit. Two additional rooms – The Library and the Telegraph Room – are shaped with charming details that create sought-after hideaways for private moments or discrete phone calls.
The Residence can be combined with the collection of beautiful spaces that the hotel offers, which includes its heated secret roof terrace. Overlooking the sleepy Marylebone mews below, the hideaway provides the perfect place to sip on cocktails or clink Champagne flutes when toasting to the occasion, and will make the experience even more memorable.
The Residence’s team of diligent planners are trained to create bespoke events for occasions big and small, ensuring that every wish and desire is fulfilled, and the event is nothing short of spectacular. Small details integrated throughout the space have been designed to add extra flair and create memorable moments for guests, and aid activities that can include expert-led wine-tasting sessions in The Cellar, small private dining and afternoon tea experiences in The Billiards Room, or intimate wedding celebrations for close friends and family.
The hotel’s proximity to both Baker Street & Marylebone stations and its 118 sophisticated rooms and suites boost its appeal, giving guests the choice to extend their experience with an overnight stay. Its onsite restaurant, Kitchen at Holmes, also provides an exquisite dining experience that combines traditional and contemporary flavours.
Jennifer McCabe, General Manager of Holmes Hotel London, commented that “We are delighted to reveal The Residence, a project years in the making that has exceeded all expectations. It is an incredible extension to our hotel and truly speaks for itself – this is a space like no other that we believe will provide the ideal backdrop for any special occasion.
“Through clever and creative use of design that draws on the area’s intriguing fictional history, The Residence has the ability to bring out the best in celebrations, and we can’t wait to play a part in creating moments for our guests that will be remembered for years to come.”
