Property developer and investor Dorrington has launched The Marlo, a collection of 29 chic apartments and two penthouses in Marylebone Village. Its entrance, at 4 Blandford Street, is close to Marylebone High Street and minutes from local landmarks such as The Wallace Collection and Chiltern Firehouse.

The largest ever luxury rental development in Marylebone Village, the scheme will help to meet soaring demand from renters to live in this world-class shopping and dining area. Marylebone's growing popularity with renters has squeezed supply: in late 2021 the number of properties available to let was down by 85% compared with this time last year, according to data provider LonRes.

There are 22 studios/one-beds, one two-bed and eight three-bed apartments – half of which are offered furnished. All residents enjoy access to The Marlo’s courtyard garden, one of very few private open spaces in Marylebone. A sunny garden room leads into the courtyard, which has been tastefully landscaped.

These unique facilities echo the village feel of Marylebone, with its independent shops and proximity to both Regent’s and Hyde Park.

The Marlo offers a boutique hotel experience for renters, with staff drawn from the hospitality sector, concierge services and specially curated residents’ events. The scheme is pet friendly and residents have access to secure bike storage and car club membership. Designed by award-winning studio Barbara Weiss Architects (BWA), the building is full of character – extending and reconfiguring buildings from the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods to create one unique residence.

All apartments are exceptionally well-provided with bespoke joinery and kitchens, generous storage and many come with home-working spaces. Several come with private balconies, whilst the largest penthouse has three terraces. The interior style of the public areas and furnished apartments is inspired by a subtle mixture of mid-century Scandinavian and earlier Modernist/Bauhaus design. The furnished apartments come with a mix of design classics, original vintage items, and well-crafted new pieces.

The apartments are available through managing agent Native. For a 12-month let or more, prices start from £811 per week. Shorter-term lets on a fully managed basis are also available.
