Living Pitchside

Wimbledon Grounds, a mixed-use development by Galliard Homes, officially launched earlier this year offering stylish new homes adjacent to the new Plough Lane football stadium. Following AFC Wimbledon’s return and first full-capacity game this August, Galliard have just revealed the homes offering balcony views overlooking the pitch, perfect for football fans who don’t want to miss any of the action.

Wimbledon Grounds is bringing a new community to Plough Lane, with the two buildings Stadia One and Stadia Three seeing their first residents move in. Stadia One is the centrepiece collection, set to deliver 364 new homes, alongside Stadia One which offers 114 homes, both with access to landscaped grounds and some with private balconies and terraces.

On Saturday 14th August, AFC Wimbledon took to the stadium to play Bolton, with the exciting game drawing 3-3. With Galliard the official match sponsors, it was the first competitive home league match for the Dons at full capacity since the stadium completed last winter, and fans were delighted to be back watching their teams play.

Galliard reveals that a collection of spacious homes in Stadia One have private balconies and windows overlooking the pitch. These apartments, a mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, have private balconies where buyers can relax to watch the game, as well as large windows from bedrooms also giving good views. This means fans can still enjoy the buzz from games and catch sight of the action without attending person.

David Galman, Sales Director of Galliard Homes says: “We are delighted to see Wimbledon Grounds coming to life, with the first buyers moved in and the new stadium now hosting full-capacity games for fans. We have a number of apartments with private balconies with views looking towards the pitch, giving a great view for the matches and energy of the stadium. As well as proving popular with AFC Wimbledon fans, we are seeing a great range of buyers at Wimbledon Grounds, from first-time buyers excited to set up their first home to young families looking for extra space.”

At Wimbledon Grounds, buyers benefit from a range of incentives including every home being available fully furnished courtesy of New Concept Furnishings, who will be providing furniture and all the essentials with every home ‘all the way down to your bamboo toothbrush.’ The stylish packages included beds and sofas, soft furnishings including rugs and made-to-measure blinds a wide range of accessories ranging from lamps and mirrors, to kitchen utensils and cleaning products.

In addition to the extensive furniture packages, buyers at Wimbledon Grounds also benefit from a range of other incentives, including Galliard’s extension of the Government’s Stamp Duty Holiday until January 2022, which will allow buyers to save up to £15,000 on Stamp Duty. Finally, in recognition of NHS workers’ hard work over the past year every NHS worker purchaser will be offered a new TV and Deliveroo voucher.

Combined with the local community built around the football stadium, the superb location and amenities for residents at Wimbledon Grounds, these measures help to ensure that the development is a destination for young home buyers looking to find the perfect place to live in London.

Each property at Wimbledon Grounds is spacious and replete with contemporary interior design. High tech-appliances run throughout each property, and they all have open-plan living/dining spaces and designer kitchens as well as flooring in a mix of oak and carpet.  All appliances such as fridge/freezer and dishwasher are integrated and the walls left neutral in tone, ready for interpretation by their current or future owner.

Homes at Wimbledon Grounds are currently available from £440,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, £575,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, £695,000 for a three bedroom apartment and £825,000 for a three bedroom maisonette.
