Harrogate Ladies’ College, a respected girls’ school established in 1893, will become coeducational by September 2026 and change its name to Duchy College.
This shift is a strategic response to declining boarding numbers and increasing operational costs.
The school plans to admit boys gradually, beginning with Years 7 and 12.
Despite the change, leaders assure that the school will continue to uphold its nurturing atmosphere and commitment to personalised education.
