CCS Interior Design Unveils A Modern Garden Patio At THE MART Showhouse 2026 Chicago

This May, CCS Interior Design will debut a highly anticipated space at THE MART Showhouse 2026 in Chicago, IL—one of the industry’s most celebrated design events of the year. While the showhouse brings together a collective of nationally recognized designers, this moment represents a deeply personal design expression for Cynthia Bolton-Smith, founder of CCS Interior Design.

Her space, a Modern Garden Patio, is an elevated outdoor retreat inspired by the elegance and ambiance of a European courtyard at dusk. Designed to evoke emotion and experience, the patio blends sculptural lighting, soft drapery, layered textures, and a custom flooring concept that introduces rhythm and movement underfoot. Every element has been intentionally curated to create a balance between structure and ease—resulting in a space that feels both refined and inviting.

For Cynthia, this design goes beyond aesthetics. It reflects her philosophy that great design should be both beautiful and liveable—spaces that not only look elevated, but feel warm, welcoming, and deeply personal. Her approach is rooted in creating environments that transform how people live, gather, and connect.

Although the project is still in progress, anticipation continues to build ahead of the grand opening on May 20, 2026. Guests will be invited to experience the space as it was intended—not just to be seen, but to be felt. From the glow of layered lighting to the softness of draped fabric and the richness of natural materials, the patio offers a moment of pause within the energy of the showhouse.
