Boost for Branson’s new luxury Mallorca hotel

Richard Branson’s new luxury hotel in Mallorca is under development and pictures have been shared to give a glimpse of how it will look. The Virgin Limited Edition hotel will welcome guests from August 2023.

Set in the Tramuntana region of Mallorca, the 26-bedroom hotel is partly built on the site of a highly protected historic finca building dating back to the 1500’s. Central to the private estate, it boasts one of the highest levels of protection across the whole of the island.

The hotel is the latest to be built on the Son Bunyola estate. The 810-acre site is already home to three stand alone luxury villas; Sa Punta S’Aguila, Sa Terra Rotja and Son Balagueret.

The new hotel will form an integral part of the estate surrounded by vines, citrus fruit trees, almond and olive trees. It will comprise of the main finca, as well as the tafona – which previously contained the historic olive press – in addition to several annexe buildings.

There will be two showcase suites with terraces and two tower suites boasting 360-degree mountain and sea views – one of which was originally a medieval defence tower dating back to the 13th century. The hotel will also offer two restaurants, including tapas, lounges, several external dining terrace and a swimming pool with views of Mallorca’s famous Foradada.
