When undertaking high-end residential projects, it’s important to select a visionary interior design studio. Sonia Jacobs spoke to the husband and wife team behind Pippa Paton Design to find out how they approach their revolutionary projects
Possessing an innate talent for visualising a space and how it can be transformed, certainly pays dividends in the aspirational world of interior design and one talented individual at the sharp end, Pippa Paton, understands this only too well. Established in 2006, Pippa and husband Scott’s Oxfordshire studio offers a comprehensive design service including architecture, spatial planning, and interior architecture, as well as a complete project and construction management service.
Working primarily in The Cotswolds, but also Gloucestershire and London, the studio is primarily known for reconstructing and remodelling the manor houses, estates, barns and cottages of the region and the team’s approach is needless to say consistent - focusing on the bones of the structure that reflect the unique character of the surrounding area.
“A successful project outcome is all about optimising and unlocking a property’s potential,” Pippa explains. “Exposing and enhancing historic fabric, where it exists, is key to this design journey, overlaying this with a palette of calm colours fused with natural and contemporary materials such as polished concrete, resin and steel alongside natural materials such as wood, stone, linen and leather to create timeless, luxurious homes.”
The team also create high-end finishes to their projects by blending contemporary, bespoke and antique furniture alongside art, sculpture and eclectic pieces. “That way we create a home environment that’s both individual and elegant, yet comfortable and practical,” Pippa adds.
Undertaking projects of varying sizes, the studio specialises in providing complete design solutions and focuses on ensuring the finished product is all the client could hope for; a stunning space that celebrates the original features of their cherished home yet makes it perfect for life in the 21st Ccentury.
