The only way to get the Government to pay for Cannabis on the NHS is by providing the study data the regulators have been asking for. Until that can be achieved, patients will have to continue pay out of pocket for their cannabis medication.

NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) has called for more data on the benefits of cannabis in chronic pain to help inform the Government about the possibilities for reimbursement on the NHS. None of the existing studies are doing this. We have listened to the regulator and are carrying out a regulatory approved CTIMP study (Clinical trial in the investigation of a medicinal product).

We are different from any other Cannabis Clinic or UK Study. Patients who join our clinic have the possibility of having their data entered into a regulatory approved trial, designed to inform the NHS on their decision-making process as to whether cannabis medication should be used for patients suffering with chronic pain in the future. If our study data proves to be beneficial then this will bring an end to paying for cannabis treatment privately.

We believe it is best to have your data used in a study that could ultimately lead to reimbursement rather than used in studies similar to those already rejected by reimbursors.

Our study is designed similarly to traditional pharmaceutical product triasl. One formulation, one dose, one delivery device and one disease being studied.

Unlike other clinical trials that are free, patients need to pay for the clinical service. This is because LVL has invested millions of pounds in getting this trial approved by the regulator. What is more is that unlike other pharmaceutical products which are licensed to companies for 25 years cannabis flower cannot be licensed to a company so funding this type of trial can only really be achieved with the private sector and patients contributing.
