Top Restaurants Pushing Up The Prices Of London’s Luxury Homes

In the heart of London, a record number of people are prepared to fork out more for a home, if it lay close to top 5* restaurants.

When buying any home, location is one of the biggest factors in pushing the price skyward – especially in the big city. Now, according to the most recent data from the CBRE, 72% of people said they would pay a premium to live near a top restaurant.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that a number of luxury apartments are on the rise in the stomping grounds of esteemed restauranteurs.

MARYLEBONE

In recent years Marylebone has seen a huge influx of Michelin starred restaurants, which has drawn interest from high-flyers and celebrities to the picturesque neighbourhood. To bank on this stellar reputation, the W1 development – led by Sir Peter Wood’s property firm, W-One International – recently launched on the High Street.

The former BBC Radio London headquarters is being transformed into a collection of 19 apartments, including three penthouses and five townhouses just metres from Marylebone’s thriving restaurant scene adding to the appeal of this central London location.

PADDINGTON

Paddington Gardens, currently under development, is set to offer 335 homes alongside offices, restaurants, retail space and a 340 room hotel. The development will be surrounded by a wide pedestrian boulevard which will connect Paddington Gardens to Regents Canal in the up-and-coming gastronomic hub.

In addition, Paddington Gardens is the only development of its kind in the area that will provide such expansive green space, combining a haven for wildlife, children’s play and recreational use.

EARL’S COURT

A landmark site and the first chapter of the Earls Court masterplan, Lillie Square will deliver 808 homes where Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham meet. Lillie Square is less than half a mile from London’s only Michelin-starred pub, The Harwood Arms.
