Patsy Blunt Interiors combine high-end luxe design with unique elements that make a house a home. Abode2 visited one of their most recent projects

Housed within a modern architectural interpretation of an impressive mansion build, in leafy Englefied Green, Surrey, this unique property includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious dressing room, together with an art studio.

The real beauty of the apartment lies in the interior design scope and the eccentricities of some of the chosen pieces. Patsy Blunt and her team were keen to ensure that this spacious apartment also incorporated the client’s personal taste and as such, it features vibrant colours, bold wallpaper and unique ornaments collected from the various countries she has lived in.

During the initial consultation phase, the team learnt that the client’s upbringing in Zambia inspired her creative nature. She described playing in her father’s fruit garden, as a child, and exploring the markets filled with spices. ‑ us, her love of colour heavily influenced the chosen design schemes.

As an artist, it was important for her to have a space to paint which led the team to convert a guest bedroom into an art studio. Her collection of unique and vibrant artwork allows the space to retain a sense of its own identity, while adding a dash of glamour.

Patsy and her team worked closely with the client to create an interior that’s suitable for modern day living. Every ­ nish was chosen with detail and quality in mind. The open plan kitchen and dining area was designed to allow for all year-round entertaining, with a bespoke built-in bar being a key feature.

The cabinetry is ­finished in a dramatic sycamore black high gloss, accented with antique brass detailing, and a shagreen panelling to add texture to the joinery. The bar makes a style statement with its striking, backlit glass panel.

The unique drawing room is a magical mix of colours, textures, and eclectic objects. Doors lead out to a decorative metal balcony, allowing for vast and exclusive views across the great lawn and private parkland. Incorporating a ­ replace into the study area, not only creates a statement feature within the room, but also brings warmth and a sense of relaxation into the space, whilst the tranquil palette of white, taupe, and so mint, gives the principal suite the ultimate feeling of sophistication, elegance and serenity.
