The prestigious surroundings of Ten Trinity Square in the heart of the City of London played host to Abode2 Luxury Property Magazine’s Summer Reception on Thursday, June 23rd held in partnership with the Reignwood Group, Credit Suisse (www.creditsuisse.com) and Moore Stephens (www.moorestephens.com)
130 invited guests from the world of property, design and interiors, media, banking and finance enjoyed a lively evening of debate and networking in the historic UN Ballroom. Guests sampled award-winning DOC Italian wines courtesy of Torti Wines (www.greatwinedirect.com) and freshly prepared sushi from premium brand Sushi Rolls (www.sushirolls.co.uk), before hearing the latest news about the London property market, the growing Pan-Asia investor interest in the capital, with a sneak preview of the soon-to-be-unveiled landmark residential development that is Ten Trinity Square.
Keynote speakers for the evening included Paul Fairfoull, Director, Private Banking, Credit Suisse who provided an overview of Credit Suisse in the Private Banking arena with a focus on the bank’s mortgage portfolio and Gill Smith, Head of Private Client Services for Moore Stephens. Gill outlined in detail the key tax changes affecting UK residential property in recent years, as well as highlighting ways in which Moore Stephens could assist private clients in managing their UK tax position.
Hailed as one of Britain’s most iconic buildings – Ten Trinity Square was designed by celebrated architect Sir Edwin Cooper in the early Twenties; the Beaux-Arts architecture and interiors reflecting the confidence of London when it was the world’s largest port and one of the great international centres of trade and finance. Fast forward to 2016, and this neoclassical masterpiece is perhaps undergoing its most ambitious transformation to date. Five years of painstaking restoration work, and the results are nothing short of palatial; the property sympathetically transformed by Beijing-based developer Reignwood Group into a Four Seasons hotel with 41 fully-serviced residences and a private members club and spa.
Comments one of the project’s keynote designers, Joseph Caspari: “Your heart really skips a beat the first time you see the building. The public spaces all contain their own strong sense of voyage and history, and, essentially it’s this alchemy that has been transcribed into the present day life of the building. It’s a great symphony, an opera that’s been brought to life.”
