The effort to find a buyer for a Warminster-area mansion built for Hollywood star personality and comedian, Joan Rivers, is officially on again. The 7-bedrooom, 12,586-square foot mansion on Beverly Hills Road, that is technically in Ivyland, but with a Warminster mailing address, was re-listed in November, according to realtor sources. The home first hit the market in September of last year at an asking price of $3,395,000. That price was dropped as low as $2,495,000 but has risen again and it is currently listed at $2,795,000.
Comedian Joan and her husband, Edgar Rosenberg, met Warrington developer Thomas Pileggi in 1978, when he helped finance one of her movies, according to news reports of the time. He would go on to design an estate home for her, though it was ultimately sold to another family years later after Rosenberg's death.
The mansion sits on a plot that is more than 10 acres and it boasts a master bedroom that, at about 2,000 square feet is one of its many luxuries. The mansion also features an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, a fully equipped gym, five fireplaces and a gallery. Alongside the large master bedroom, the property included 6 other bedrooms and 6 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms. Built in 1989 the new owner will enjoy the serene setting as they enter through the gates to Two Ponds, continuing down the shared drive to 29 Beverly Hills Road. The massive, 12, 586-square foot mansion was built by developer Thomas Pileggi for the famous comedian and personality. The Hollywood inspired home sits on more than 10 acres, surrounded by mature foliage and a private pond. Featuring classic arch-top windows in the grand entry bathe the imperial double staircase with natural light. The master suite, at about 2, 000 square feet, has attached his-and-hers bathrooms encompassing a sauna and steam room. Other outstanding features include an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, fully equipped gym, tanning room, five fireplaces and a gallery. This estate is located in award winning Council Rock School District. It has the feel of being thousands of miles away in your own manor, yet it is just 30 minutes to New Hope, 45 minutes to Center City Philadelphia and 1.5 hours to Manhattan.
Despite its impressive features, design and location, the property has been on the market for over a year and the fluctuation in prices suggest that it may remain unsold in the near future.
