Creating beautiful homes and property renovations is what Belvedere do, but L-J Andrew spoke to Director Cris Da Costa about how treating each project individually and fostering relationships has curated their unrivalled reputation in the industry
What makes a Belvedere home unique?
I would say our homes reflect our clients tastes and needs, that’s why none of the projects we have undertaken have ever been the same, so every property we build is unique. We build to a very high quality, and there are a few other contractors who are capable of building to a similar quality, but what we offer that is truly unique is the high level of service throughout the entire process. We can advise not just from the beginning of construction but through the identification of locations, as well as plot or property procurement, all the way through to the finished property. This wholistic approach allows us to deliver a service for clients that is much more tailored to their envisaged lifestyle.
What is the most crucial step when taking on a new project?
I believe that there are 2 crucial steps. One of them being putting together the right team, and by team I am referring to the contractor, architect and interior designer. It’s the team that will work together to manage all aspects of the project, dealing with any issues throughout planning, the construction process and working together to implement the design the client has in mind. This is why, as the main contractor, we like to be involved as early as possible to help put the team together and set the foundation early for how we will all work together to deliver exactly what the client requires. The other crucial step is deciding at which location you wish to carry out your project. The old saying location, location, location is as relevant, if not more important today than it has ever been.
What values are at the core of Belvedere?
There are three words that we push here at Belvedere: Consultancy, Build and Partner. I believe they sum up what we’re here as a company to do. The consultancy side is here to give pragmatic, realistic and honest advice to our clients to help them be best informed to make decisions. The build part is where we deliver homes of the highest quality, whether it be a new build country mansion on the Wentworth estate or the refurbishment of a flat in central London, we approach all projects with same attention to detail that sets us apart from most other contractors. Finally, the partner side is focussed on how we treat our clients. We are a family-owned company and our reputation is extremely important to us, so focusing on how we work alongside our clients, keeping them happy and informed of progress at all stages, is of paramount importance to us.
Tell us more about the new Real Estate Concierge service
Our new Real Estate Concierge service is plot and property sourcing service where we take a brief from our clients and actively go out and find properties that are suitable for either extension/ or redevelopment to meet their criteria. Often what is available on the open market is not sufficient for what they are looking for, so instead if simply waiting for a suitable property to become available, which can take years, we are here to help speed up that process. For our international clients we can also help with introductions to relevant professional services, such as immigration lawyers and private security, that they need and can advise on any matters arising from relocating to live in the United Kingdom.
What does the future hold for Belvedere?
With the recent launch of our Real Estate Concierge service going so well we are looking forward to progressing on a few properties we have already identified for some of our current clients and hopefully can get underway with the planning process for them before the end of the year.
We have just commenced work on a new build project that will be due for completion Q1 2024 as well as getting ready to begin another renovation project this September as well as finishing off our current projects so very busy in the construction side of the business. We have also recently expanded the team, bringing on 2 new project managers to help increase capacity.
All in all, the next few years are shaping up to be our busiest yet and its really exciting to be helping deliver all these fantastic properties for our clients.
