Repton School has been named the UK’s leading independent school for sport, winning the Best for Sport award in The Week Independent Schools Guide: Best of the Best Senior Schools 2025.
The guide praised Repton’s combination of elite performance and inclusive participation, with every pupil training at least three times a week and over 80% representing the school in fixtures. Supported by resident Team GB captains, former England internationals, and Olympic-standard facilities, pupils excel across a wide range of sports.
The 2024–25 year saw outstanding achievements, including U18 and U16 Girls’ Hockey National titles, swimming success with Olympian Eva Okaro, and cricketing accolades for Harry Moore, who signed with Birmingham Phoenix after representing England U19s.
Repton also focuses on personal development through initiatives like ‘performance playground’ sessions and house competitions, combining sport, creativity, and wellbeing for all pupils.
Headmaster Mark Semmence said:
"Being named ‘Best for Sport’ is a testament to our pupils, coaches, and the ethos at Repton, where excellence, participation, and personal growth go hand in hand.”
