Renowned for designing contemporary ways of living, international architecture and interior design practice Conran and Partners has been appointed to bring to life the interiors of Cadence - the latest and architecturally striking residential building in King’s Cross - by developer Argent LLP.
All 103, studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments and communal spaces radiate character and sophistication. The apartments have been designed to optimise space and light by blending neutral palettes with colourful details across the walls and surfaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies optimise the south-facing vistas across King’s Cross and the communal landscaped courtyard set around a tranquillity water feature, provides an urban oasis for residents to retreat and flow between the indoors and outdoors.
Prospective buyers now have the opportunity to experience living at Cadence with the opening of the first show apartment this July. The apartment replica unveils how Conran and Partners has abstracted and evolved Cadence’s striking architectural identity by Alison Brooks Architects, by using curved edges, blocks of colour and irregular patterns.

Conran and Partners has incorporated contemporary furniture with bold dressings to the open-plan double-aspect space. For the dining area, an elegant aesthetic has been achieved with the SK6 Table from &Tradition In Between, the Afteroom Dining Chairs from MENU, and the visually striking pendant light by Flos’ Arrangements. Paying homage to iconic classics and innovative design, the living room sees the Knoll Wassily Lounge Chair paired with more playful pieces including the rust coloured circular table from FORM by Nort Studio. A subtle material layer is used on the walls with Paint + Paper library wall paints to add texture and life to the space.
A calmer palette has been adopted for the bedroom; a deep blue wall is offset by soft furnishings with neutral warm tones. Wanting to capture the rhythmic spirit of Cadence, a bespoke upholstered crescent headboard, designed by Conran and Partners, provides a comforting backdrop to the tranquil bedroom. Simon Kincaid, Partner, Conran and Partners says: “Cadence offers a truly unique living experience and we are thrilled to be a part of its development. Our aim with the interiors was to celebrate the building’s exterior which has become so distinguished, yet ensure each apartment has their own personality. We’ve taken reference from the architectural form and applied it in a calm, subtle and abstracted way through the design and detailing. The show apartment really showcases that, it embodies the feeling of a home curated and acquired through time.
Our design puts a spotlight on new and innovative designers, with many furnishings incorporated into the design created by small studios in the UK, alongside styling items from nearby stores within Coal Drops Yard, making the apartment truly unique.”
The show apartment is located within the Residential Marketing Suite, 14 - 15 Stable Street, King’s Cross, and is now open for appointment only tours and viewings. All safety precautions have been put in place to make this a safe environment for visitors.
Cadence is due for completion, with first residents moving in, Autumn 2022.
