The Royal Palace Prior

Before Kate Middleton became the Duchess of Cambridge and moved to Kensington Palace, she lived in a London townhouse with her sister. And recently, Kate and Pippa Middleton's former home sold for $2.27 million.

Carole and Michael Middleton purchased the spot in 2002 for £780,000 ($942,000) so their daughters could have a nice place to live when they entered the workforce just after college, and it was certainly a nice starter home for the sisters. The three-bedroom townhouse is cosy, yet luxurious, according to reports. Spread out over three floors, the abode features a large living room, dining room with built-in shelves, and a master suite with an en-suite bathroom and stunning views of the Chelsea neighbourhood. The windowed kitchen is on the smaller side, but features wood cabinetry and high-end appliances.

Kate ultimately moved out after her 2011 wedding to Prince William, and the royal couple now live at Kensington Palace with their three children, six-year-old Prince George, four-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 15-month-old Prince Louis. They also have a country home called Anmer Hall in Norfolk. Pippa, meanwhile, lives with her husband, James Matthews, and their son, Arthur, right down the road from the residence she once shared with her sister.

The Middletons listed the home for £1.95 million in 2018, according to reports, and despite getting £70,000 less than the asking price, they still made a nice profit.

This isn't the only property from the past life of a royal to hit the market as of late. Meghan Markle’s former Los Angeles home recently went up for sale, giving fans a peek inside the life of the Duchess before she married Prince Harry.
