Filmworks in Ealing, comprising 18 apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms, are ready to move into. Delivered by St George – part of the Berkeley Group - the elegant mix of art-deco inspired homes complete this 209-home community.

Three new Showhomes are available to view, including a two-bedroom apartment designed by interior design company Killer5. Inspired by the vibrant Ealing neighbourhood, this home includes a striking flamingo print in the main living space, and bright, bold artwork, upholstery and furniture, which perfectly contrasts the contemporary kitchen specification. Accents of brushed gold can also be found throughout the home, bringing an opulent feel to the space.

Bringing Ealing’s cinematic history back to life

As the site of the former Forum Theatre, the restoration at Filmworks sensitively integrates the historic art deco frontage into the new development, which was originally designed by John Stanley Beard – an English architect known for designing cinemas in and around London. Due care was taken to carefully repair the existing faience blocks and redecorate the eight iconic colonnades to create a grand entrance.

With a dedication to seamlessly intertwine the new and the old, styling cues were taken from the 1920s era and feature in the new decorative metalwork and distinctive gates to the side of the restored façade. The Concierge at Bogart House features one of the original chandeliers from the Forum Theatre, which has been restored to its former glory.

Once complete, Filmworks will feature an eight-screen cinema with over 1,000 seats, making it the largest Picturehouse cinema outside the West End.

A new community to live, work and play

Residents at Filmworks will be moments from the central piazza, which is set to welcome the Picturehouse cinema, and a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and bars.

Filmworks is also just moments from Dickens Yard, a neighbouring development by St George comprising 700 homes, public spaces and a range high end retail outlets, wellness offerings and restaurants, including BrewDog, No 17 Dickens Yard, GAIL’s Bakery, Gymbox, Leon Beauty and independent greengrocer Reineta.

Adjacent to Filmworks is the recently renovated Grade I listed Pitzhanger Manor, the former home of renowned British architect Sir John Soane. Pitzhanger Manor sits within Walpole Park, a beautifully landscaped original parkland which is one of the finest green spaces in Ealing and includes the serpentine lake, a walled garden and a pond with fountains. Run by Ealing Council, Walpole Park can be enjoyed by the local community and visitors alike.

This evolving neighbourhood is playing a significant role in the wider regeneration of Ealing ahead of the arrival of the Elizabeth Line at Ealing Broadway station.

The opening continues to be one of the most eagerly anticipated developments in London, and, once open, the new station will halve journey times to Central London, with travel to Bond Street in 11 minutes, Liverpool Street in 18 minutes and Canary Wharf in 25 minutes.

Research from estate agent Savills found that over the last five years homes located within 1km of around half of the Crossrail stations have increased in price by around 25%, compared with a London price growth of 7.8%. This includes Ealing Broadway, which has seen prices increase by 23%.
