Inge Moore and Nathan Hutchins, two of the most exciting interior designers working in the luxury hospitality and residential sectors today, have announced the formation of MUSE London, a high-concept boutique practice which will specialise in one-of-a-kind projects around the world. The new studio will be based in London’s Notting Hill and already has a roll-call of unique and luxury commissions in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Europe and in London.
For the past decade, Inge and Nathan have been winning acclaim and respect for their work at HBA London where they were President Europe & Principal and Partner respectively. Their approach stood out for its inspired use of storytelling, drawing on the legends, culture, colour and crafts of the project location to create settings for new stories yet to be made.
“Through our design, we discover and re-tell the stories that are held within places,” says Inge. “By nature, we are curious people who love to explore and then weave our findings into experiences that are moving, memorable and magical.”
The pair has also proved nimble in diversifying their portfolio from hotels and spas to stand-alone restaurants, prime residential, members’ clubs and, most recently, luxury train and riverboat design.
“MUSE will have a very particular studio culture and that is important to us,” says Nathan. “It will be shaped by the skills and passions of the team and this means we will be interested in the potential of the project and the client’s aspiration more than simply the size and scale of the commission.”
