St William, a joint venture between National Grid and the Berkeley Group, launch the first properties at Salisbury House, Prince of Wales Drive with a collection of one and two-bedroom homes. Prince of Wales Drive is the first residentially led regeneration scheme in London from St William, who are redeveloping former gasholder sites that have been closed to the public for decades, into new beautiful communities.

Salisbury House comprises 112 generous sized apartments with one bedroom apartments from 562 sq.ft and two bedroom apartments from 663 sq.ft. Designed by architects Squire and Partners, the scheme takes inspiration from the 19th Century gasholder which once stood on site as well as the neighbouring landscape of Battersea Park and the Victorian mansion houses of Battersea.

Apartments in the heart of Battersea inspired by the area’s industrial heritage

Two palettes of materials and colours have been curated specifically for Prince of Wales Drive by interior designer, Muza Lab. Kitchens are designed for modern life and include bespoke feature cupboards and integrated Siemens appliances. Throughout Salisbury House, Prince of Wales Drive’s industrial heritage is referenced through textured materials including stainless steel and granite or composite worktops. Throughout Salisbury House, technology has been carefully integrated, with living rooms benefitting from LED downlights with dimmable features, underfloor heating and comfort cooling with touch screen controls and a video entry system ensuring safety.

Newly opened facilities on site

Residents at Salisbury House will benefit from newly opened facilities designed by Scott Brownwigg. The amenities include a 17m swimming pool and vitality pool, as well as a sauna and steam room. Additionally, a relaxation room can be hired for treatments. Offering rare central London outdoor space, residents can make use of the large roof terrace designed with secluded seating areas, arranged to relax and socialise with fellow residents. Those living at Prince of Wales Drive will also benefit from a 24-hour concierge and be able to choose to sign up to a fully equipped 24-hour gym by Gym Group, which is directly accessible from the residents’ pool and spa.

By 2021, residents will further benefit from the Northern Line extension at Battersea Power Station which will be a three-minute walk away. This extension will cut journey times to the City and West End to under ten minutes and journeys to Blackfriars on the Thames Clipper from Battersea Power Station in 19 minutes.


Prince of Wales Drive is less than 180m from Battersea Park, which has 200 acres of picturesque green space and a diverse program of activities and events that run throughout the year. The development also neighbours the large-scale regeneration of Battersea Power Station, which offers residents access to a range of new high-street chains and independent shops, restaurants, and bars.
