Fashion mogul Andrew Rosen has sold his full-floor penthouse in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village for $18.5 million.
Rosen, who in April stepped down as chief executive officer of Theory Inc., the fashion company he co-founded 22 years ago, listed the 3,875-square-foot apartment for $21.5 million last September.
The listing was taken off the market temporarily in January and was relisted in late April when it was already under contract, according to listing records on StreetEasy.
The sale was closed on Wednesday, with the apartment selling for $18.5 million, according to listing agent Leonard Steinberg of Compass.
The apartment on West 12th Street occupies the top floor of a 13-storey building, part of the luxury condominium complex known as Greenwich Lane, which was constructed on the site of the former St. Vincent's Hospital in 2012.
Rosen bought the penthouse for $13 million in 2012, property records show. He commissioned New York-based architect Steven Harris to gut and renovate it about three years ago, according to the previous listing with Compass.
The penthouse includes a 70-foot-long living room, a dining room, an eat-in kitchen, a gym and a media room/study. The master suite has a private outdoor reading room connecting to the bedroom, two walk-in closets and a marble bathroom with a free-standing soaking tub.
Other amenities include a wraparound terrace with cityscape views, two wood-burning fireplaces with limestone mantel, French cerused oak doors, radiant-heated limestone floors, and a smart home system.
