A breath-taking mansion formerly rented by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has sold for USD $13.6 million ($19.1 million). Located in the celebrity-studded, coastal locale of the Hamptons, the whopping abode certainly looks like it's got the chops to host two of Hollywood's most celebrated icons.
Spread over more than 9000-square-metres of blue-chip land in the platinum postcode of Southampton, the devastating domicile offers up eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a copious number of opulent features.
Built in the mid-'90s, the two-storey weatherboard benefits from a grand main entrance foyer, a professional kitchen with luxury appliances and a gentrified study with wood-burning fireplace.
The acting duo rented the epic house out for the summer in 2006 – an era considered to be peak 'Brangelina'.
According to the New York Post, a source close to the former couple said that the paparazzi was so enamoured with the pairing that cameramen hung from helicopters over the mansion, hoping to take a snap of a scantily clad Pitt or Jolie by the sizeable pool and spa area.
"They were flying so low, Jolie was terrified they'd crash into the house," the source told the Post. Luckily for Brangelina, there's also a lavish pool house, which no doubt would've come in handy to avoid the pesky prying eyes and telephoto lenses of the celeb-crazed press.
We're pretty certain the now-divorced duo would've spent their fair share of time in the master suite, and, with a private terrace and skylight-lit master bathroom … who could blame them. Other features of the gorgeous home include a championship-size tennis court, yoga studio, and lush, manicured grounds.
We find it curious that, given its grandeur, the multi-millionaire couple didn't simply just buy the home – they've certainly got enough cash for it. However, considering the former couple have had a bitterly nasty divorce, and Pitt is currently suing Jolie for selling her share of a French vineyard they bought together back in the day, it's probably a good thing they didn't add this particular Hamptons mansion to the portfolio.
