While the world recovers from the curtailment of Covid, Abode2 couldn’t think of a more inviting place to chillax than Jennifer Ansiton’s dreamy Bel Air mansion
If only we could all be recovering from lockdown languish in the style of Jennifer Aniston. The Friends star’s $21m Bel Air mansion is nothing short of sublime. Anniston purchased the home in 2011 and it's an indulgent haven where she has been self-isolating due to the pandemic.
While the mid-century 8,500 square-foot home was completed in 1965, Jennifer has added a whole new level of designer luxe, with Asian-inspired pocket gardens, al fresco terraces, and modern fixtures and accessories.
The property sports four bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a pool, a wine cellar, and even a guest house. Sitting in two acres of land, the home also boasts both city and ocean views despite being some distance from the waterfront.
The two separate wings of the house are reminiscent of an old Hollywood movie, while the different levels give the place a certain period grandeur. Jenn brought in award-winning designers Stephen Shadley, Kathleen and Tommy Clements and Jane Hallworth to help her create her stylish haven.
With sleek floor to ceiling wardrobes and neutral shades and furnishings, her bedroom is positively dreamy - it's clear she loves calm and tranquillity when she hits the hay.
The room boasts a huge sleep space with the addition of its own living room suite attached and while it’s certainly chic, Jennifer insists the most important thing isn’t what it looks like but how it feels.
"I'm all about cosy," she told Abode2. "Sexy is important, but comfort is essential."
One of the lead designers, Stephen Shadley, reiterated her observations when he said: "Jen is drawn to wood, stone and bronze, materials that have real substance and depth. No matter how beautiful or glamorous something is, it has to be warm and inviting."
While the centre piece of Aniston's garden is undoubtedly her pool with wood deck surrounds, she worked closely with several landscape designers to deliver a broader Zen look, complete with Japanese rock gardens, Buddhist statues and tropical plants and foliage.
The gravel driveway meanwhile with its perfectly manicured foliage gives the entrance to her home statement style. Bliss.
