Artwork can pull a room together or create a inspiration focal point in a home. However it is used in our homes it is important to choose or commission the right piece. To find out more about using Artwork for our homes, Abode2 spoke to Little Black Hat Gallery artist Kat Herrgott Penter.
Kat Herrgott Penter is known for her unique and recognisable style. She creates artworks that present a moment of luxury and positive energy to the viewer. Kat’s works have been acquired for private collections in a number of countries including France, Italy, Russia and Malta and she displayed her works in London, Surrey and Nottingham galleries.
Whilst some of Kat’s works are almost minimalist in style she really values attention to detail in the choice of the high quality materials that she uses, the quality of finish and understanding of her clients’ requirements in the process of creating commissions.
Kat’s works are inspired by beautiful people and places, variety of experiences and moments.
‘For me inspiration can be found in so many things, in my conversations with friends and family, in travelling to beautiful locations, dancing, reading and even in my work as a charted accountant which I do part time. France and Italy are probably the most inspiring countries for me with their culture full of exquisite sensuality and sophistication in so many things including people, architecture and wine’.
Interior design is another area of inspiration for Kat. She loves creating artworks that compliment home decor of either her clients, or her friends and family. ‘It is amazing to see how original artworks create a luxurious feel instantly even if everything else in the interior remains unchanged’
One of Kat’s other passions apart from painting is dancing. ‘Dancing has partly taught me the ability to appreciate the beauty of human body which inspires some of my paintings’
Kat believes in creating a story with her paintings, every artwork is a way to represent either her own thoughts and feelings or a way to give an artistic interpretation of the customer’s story rather than her own through bespoke commissions.
