Antigua and Barbuda has officially been recognised as the premier global destination for individuals seeking a second passport or long-term residency through citizenship by investment programs.
This significant endorsement comes from the Global Residency and Citizenship by Investment Report, a comprehensive publication by leading advisory firm Global Citizen Solutions.
The report highlights the twin-island nation's burgeoning appeal, particularly among those looking to diversify their citizenship portfolios and secure attractive residency options.
Adam Gobat, Sales Director at Pearns Point, a luxury oceanfront development in Antigua, attributes much of this success to the country's advantageous financial landscape. "Besides being one of the Caribbean’s most scenic destinations, Antigua and Barbuda has a favourable tax regime that does not impose personal income tax, wealth, inheritance or capital gains tax," Gobat stated. "This has had a considerable impact on the popularity of the nation’s Citizenship by Investment scheme and is resulting in growing demand from property investors and lifestyle buyers."
The benefits extend beyond tax incentives, as elaborated by Patricia Casaburi, CEO of Global Citizen Solutions. "Antigua and Barbuda passport holders can travel visa free to 151 countries, including EU Schengen states, the UK, China and Russia," Casaburi explained. She also emphasised the streamlined application process, noting, "There are no language or cultural knowledge tests and no requirement to visit Antigua and Barbuda during the application process. Antigua and Barbuda also allows dual citizenship, permitting successful applicants to maintain multiple citizenships."
Furthermore, successful applicants gain access to the broader Caribbean community. "Antigua and Barbuda citizens enjoy the benefit of being citizens of the Caribbean Community and Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS)," Casaburi added. This provides extensive opportunities for mobility and well-being: "Successful applicants can live, work and study in Antigua and Barbuda, as well as other member states of the OECS, whilst also having access to healthcare from both public and private facilities."
The recognition in the Global Residency and Citizenship by Investment Report is expected to further solidify Antigua and Barbuda's position as a top-tier choice for global citizens seeking enhanced travel freedom, financial advantages, and a high quality of life.
