A Time to Sell

The highest grossing actor of all time is selling is Manhattan home. The star of a host of box office smash hits including Jurassic Park, The Avengers and Star Wars, Samuel L. Jackson, has reportedly put his Upper East Side condo on the market.

The actor and his wife, LaTanya Richardson, listed the property for $12.95 million at the beginning of November and have since increased the asking price to an even $13 million, according to listing records.

The 3,000-square-foot apartment, located close to Central Park, has four bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a formal dining room and a wet bar, according to the listing with Spencer Means of Compass.  Combined, the apartment’s monthly taxes and common charges run to the tune of around $6,000.

Mr. Jackson purchased the home in the 13-story pre-war building in 2005 for $4.8 million from former NBA basketball player Greg Anthony and his ex-wife, author Crystal McCrary Anthony, property records show.

Prior to their acquisition on the Upper East Side, Mr. Jackson and Ms. Richardson were the owners of a Harlem brownstone, which they sold in 1997 for $125,000, according to property records.

Mr. Jackson, 69, is best known for his roles in a host of Quentin Tarantino-directed films like "Pulp Fiction" (1994) and "Django Unchained" (2012). He has also starred in the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy and is a recurring character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in films like "Thor" (2011), "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (2014), and most recently "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018).
