A Masterpiece in Modern Living

16.05.19

This month marks the unveiling of one of the capital’s most illustrious and historically fascinating new addresses: Regent’s Crescent. Situated on the very edge of Regent’s Park in Marylebone, this exquisite development by CIT comprises 67 Grade 1 listed apartments and nine Garden Villas set behind an elegant façade originally designed by John Nash in 1820.

This majestic building and the surrounding environs of Regent Street and Regent’s Park were famously commissioned by the Prince Regent, later King George IV, to house his closest friends and family. The development was granted Grade 1 listing and has long been regarded as a splendid example of Regency architecture and style.

Award-winning architects, PDP London, are overseeing the meticulous exterior build and honouring Nash’s extraordinary talent and creative vision in a spectacular re-imagining. Residents will be greeted by grand front doors featuring Regency-style fanlights, stone steps and traditional railings leading them into a double-height entrance lobby and onto an imperial staircase that sweeps down to the concierge desk and overlooks the private gardens. Other Regency-inspired features include the reintroduction of chimney stacks and the preservation of a celebrated 18th century ice well discovered on site.

International architecture and interiors studio Millier are developing the project’s beautiful interiors, reinterpreting the building’s refined Regency grandeur to complement contemporary living and combining beautifully articulated spaces with discreet modern luxury. Materials such as herringbone timber flooring, a range of luxurious marbles and ornate plaster mouldings feature throughout the property’s astonishingly proportioned rooms which boast ceiling heights of up to 4.2m. Refined neutral palettes celebrate the building’s abundance of natural light with accents of burnished bronze throughout.

Its new incarnation, due to complete Q2 next year, will rectify wartime bomb damage to restore the truest version of Nash’s original vision alongside the exemplary modern design of the new high-specification residences and sophisticated communal areas. Regent’s Crescent also offers rare access to the 8 acres of exclusive private Park Crescent and Park Square resident’s gardens as well as one and a half acres of secluded private gardens to the rear of the property featuring lawns, mature trees and planted borders designed by landscape architects Bowles & Wyer.

Of the development, Head of Sales at CIT Chris Richmond comments, “Regent’s Crescent is a remarkable scheme that we are proud to be working on. Its unique combination of enchanting and historical importance, outstanding original design, unsurpassed new build quality and remarkable location make it a very rare and special offering for the capital.”

Set to become an internationally-renowned address, residents will have exclusive access to a range of high calibre amenities with a 9,000 square foot basement including a spa, 20 metre swimming pool, spa-pool, sauna and steam room, private cinema, valet-operated underground parking, business centre and 24-hour concierge and security.

Access from Regent’s Park and Great Portland Street Underground stations are both within three minutes’ walk whilst Marylebone High Street, Marylebone Lane and Charlotte Street are within easy reach and offer a superb choice of boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The Wallace Collection, British Museum, Royal Academy of Music Museum and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre offer a range of cultural highlights in addition to the Royal Park that residents will overlook.

2-5 bedrooms start from £2.9million via Knight Frank and Savills.

Completion expected Q2 2020.
